Hey, my name is David,
What sets me apart from most guys in prison? Well, for one thing, before I got locked up, I led a great life. My house was two blocks from the oceanfront, and I spent most of my time outdoors. I loved to travel, and it was nothing to take a road trip down to Nags Head or Florida with my friends. The few legal jobs I had were cooking in nightclubs and managing bands. I was in my freshmen year of college when I caught this charge. So, you won't hear me crying about my parents or my environment being the reason I'm locked up. I'm locked up because I'm the king of bad decisions. My life could've gone two ways...finish school, start a business, and get married, OR, party, sell drugs, and chase women. Since you're reading this on Prison Social Network, you can probably guess which way things went;)
Which brings us to the other thing that sets me apart. Prison hasn't broken me at all. I'm still the same confident and ambitious man I've always been. I'm constantly trying to learn new things and surround myself with people who want the most out of life. I refuse to leave here worse off than when I came in. And it's taken some time, but I'm finally beginning to focus my energy in positive ways. I published my first book last year. It's about drug addiction, and if you want to check it out, click on the link. I'm also a mentor in a Re-Entry pod. I teach creative writing classes and help guys who are about to go home. In my spare time I do Cross-fit and play softball.
I have an amazing family. My parents have stood beside me through everything. My little sister is my best friend. Luckily, I don't have any kids. I say "luckily" because I always wanted to be a dad but would hate to miss out on raising my kid.
So now you know something about me. I want to hear about you. I'm looking to connect with people from all walks of life. I'm not into guys, but you can never have too many friends. Send me an email and let's get to know each other.
